Valentine’s Day – a day set aside to celebrate love – is just around the corner. There are dozens of ways to get in the spirit including family friendly events, grown-up events, and events to send the kids to while you celebrate on your own. Consider some of these Valentine’s Day themed activities to make this Valentine’s Day one you and your family will remember.

Donate as a Family — Anytime
Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love, and what better way to do that than through donation? Consider making some Valentine’s Day themed drawing to donate to senior citizens or troops overseas through Color a Smile
. Another way to spread love is by donating some Valentine’s Day books or pajamas to the New York Based Pajama Program.

Hearts and Crafts: Spinning Valentine’s Day Cards! Thursday,  February 13 at the Countee Cullen Library.
Stop by the library to make some heartfelt cards for those you love. For ages 5-13, kids can let their creativity flow by designing the card from beginning to end!

Everett Children’s Adventure Garden — Friday, February 14th at NYBG.
If your kids love the outdoors, then this all-ages event would be a perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day. Children will have all day to explore all 12.3 acres of the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden during this all-day exploration event.

There are many ways to celebrate this Valentine’s Day with your family, but remember that what you do is not as important as who you do it with.
