This online “academy” offers skill training via access to more than 2,000 video courses where you can learn new professional skills to make yourself more marketable…not to mention more academia friendly!
Homework help has never been easier! The NYPL provides access to reliable and credible sources of information from their digital collection available from your home computer. Visit nypl.org/digitalcollections to access over 700,000 items, including photographs, manuscripts, maps, and more! You can also visit nypl.org/databases to search by topic or keyword and find newspaper articles and historical facts – topics on American History, Silk Road and even FREE access to ABC Mouse! There are several FREE Afterschool Programs and Internships at the New York Public Library. The Enrichment Zone provides Summer activities and homework help. The Literacy Leaders programs offers opportunities for children and teens: children in 1st and 2nd grade are offered reading help by pairing them with a teen volunteer; The teens (Grades 10, 11 or 12) can apply for the Literacy Leaders program in which they will earn an English credit towards graduation (in collaboration with the Department of Education) – and after the Fall internship is completed – they can apply to become paid employees of the NYPL!
